Myriam
Bottazzi.
Born
in Milan, adopted by Rome.
Her activity can be described as a creative, intimate and instinctive
journey, so much so that it is hard to place her in a specific sector. In
the world of fashion she designed and produced body ornaments with the
Myriam B. brand.
The originality of her work has been particularly appreciated by important
fashion brands, such as Valentino, Gattinoni, Maurizio Galante, Les
Copains, Martine Sitbon. She has created for them unique articles used in
fashion shows, and at the same time she has designed and produced
accessories collections more suitable for commercial production.
In order to avoid feeling constrained by a single market, she explored
fields that swing from art to design.
Recently, at the "52nd Festival dei 2Mondi" in Spoleto, at the event
organized by ADI Umbria and dedicated to Dino Gavina - an event that was
enriched by the presence of design products and cult objects produced by
SIMON -, she presented a monochrome necklace line named "Scaglie di Rune".
Since some years ago, in her beloved Roman district (San Lorenzo), she
opened a point of sale close to her office. Its vicinity to her production
facility allows her to communicate directly to the public through her own
work. The special production for her shop is made of accessories,
functional clothing and complex, well structured dresses (just like her
jewels). A small area (luogo Myriam B.) conveys a rarefied atmosphere that
surrounds her creations. A context where she can offer seasonal
collections together with unique and constant lines through time.
Various manufacturing techniques allow her to assimilate and transform
different materials every time. In her work she transforms and elaborates
shapes and materials trying to maintain always a particular expressiveness
and craftsmanship. Her trademarks are both a refined style and a an on
going study for quality materials.
She works through object and ordinary, natural and ancient material
alienation. Often using fabrics together with raw hard stones, old and
burnt reallocated laces, cellulose Triacetate, recycled materials. A
constant material transformation oriented to the realization of unique
objects, free from all constrains, unbound by time and fashion.
Currently its creations are exposed in
the point sale
opened in the November of 2003.
