“I look for another form of beauty, the non-manifest one”

Myriam Bottazzi's contemporary jewelry is born from the intimate need to find a personal version of beauty, asymmetrical and imperfect, through which one recognizes oneself and communicates one's own vision of things. The perception of nature as a source of constant  and unlimited inspiration, leads her to experiment with the most diverse combinations of  shapes and materials, always faithful to the suggestions of an organic thought that she transmits to her creations.

Refined and ineffable works that escape definitions and belonging, complex and mutable pieces that become the expression of the perpetual flow of the universe, evoking the Japanese culture that has deeply marked her artistic path.

Thus, the stratifications of materials and objects used, bind the poetic and the lived of Myriam creating a new narrative that never ends, constantly renewing itself in the emotional meeting with those who will wear her jewelry.

The sequin is her privileged material of experimentation, ductile substance in the hands of the artist. Deprived of its dazzling and ephemeral expression and inherent serial character, the sequin become the means to reach a deeper beauty with refined imperfections. Cut, folded, contained by invisible steel frames, are corals, blooming branches and ethereal inflorescences that form the dreamlike creatures of the Aspecifiche Paillettes by Myriam Bottazzi.

Jewels that interpret the primordial forms of nature make up the visionary and unpredictable Unique Aspecifiche pieces, born from the combination of fragile materials such as sequin yarn and iron, which binds and shapes them. A renewed symbiosis emerges between the opposites, like the agates with a quartz heart that meet the lightness of the feathers.

As in the last collection Rami Fossili, an ancestral reference to the origins of the Earth, revisits the concept of artifice in the encounter with the natural matrix. Where the splinters-sequins take the shine of the porcelain in the branches that support geodes, or the opacity of the coal in the branches that hold the quartz tips. In an 'estrangement' of the material that makes it difficult at first sight to trace the origin of the articulate necklaces with a severe appearance, which once worn reveals itself as symbiotic.

This is the rediscovered, non-canonical beauty of Myriam Bottazzi.

Born in Milan, Myriam has chosen to live and work in Rome. His studioAtelier Aspecifico is housed in the walls of the historic Pastificio Cerere, the beating heart of Roman contemporary art. As a fashion designer, she designs and produces a line of accessories and ornaments MyriamB, in this path has collaborated in the past with some fashion houses such as Valentino, Maurizio Galante, Les Copains. In his new career as a designer of contemporary jewels he has recently exhibited at the JOYA Barcelona Art Jewelery Fair and at the MAD Museum of Arts and Design in New York.

“Cerco un’altra forma di bellezza, quella non manifesta”

I gioielli contemporanei di Myriam Bottazzi nascono dalla necessità intima di ricercare una personale versione di bellezza, asimmetrica e imperfetta, in cui riconoscersi e attraverso cui comunicare la propria visione delle cose. La percezione della natura come fonte di ispirazione costante e illimitata, l’ha portata a sperimentare le più diverse combinazioni di forme e materiali, sempre fedele alle suggestioni di un pensiero organico che trasmette alle sue creazioni.
Opere raffinate ed ineffabili che sfuggono alle definizioni e alle appartenenze, entità complesse e mutevoli che si fanno espressione del fluire perpetuo dell’universo, richiamandosi alla cultura giapponese che ha profondamente segnato il percorso artistico della designer.

Così, alle stratificazioni di memoria dei materiali e degli oggetti talvolta utilizzati, si legano la poetica e il vissuto di Myriam in una nuova narrazione che non si esaurisce, rinnovandosi di continuo nell’incontro emozionale con chi vestirà i suoi gioielli.

Materiale privilegiato di sperimentazione, sostanza duttile nelle mani dell’artista che si fa segno significante è la paillette. Private della loro espressività abbagliante quanto effimera e del connaturato carattere seriale, le paillettes divengono il mezzo per giungere a un più profondo stadio di bellezza dalle ricercate imperfezioni.

Tagliate, piegate, contenute da invisibili intelaiature in acciaio, sono i rami di corallo, i tralci fioriti e le infiorescenze dell’eterea collezione di Aspecifiche Paillettes creature oniriche di Myriam Bottazzi.

Gioielli che interpretano le forme primordiali della natura sono le visionarie e imprevedibili Aspecifiche Unique nate dalla combinazione di materiali fragili come il filato di cuvettes ed il ferro che lega e dà loro forma, emerge una rinnovata simbiosi tra gli opposti. Cosi anche le agate dal cuore di quarzo che mutano incontrando la leggerezza delle piume.

Come nell’ultimo progetto Rami fossili, ancestrale richiamo alle origini della Terra, che rivisita il concetto di artifizio nell’incontro con la matrice naturale. Dove le schegge-paillettes assumono la lucentezza della porcellana nei tralci che sorreggono geodi, o l’opacità del carbone nei rami che stringono le punte di quarzo. In uno ‘straniamento’ della materia tale da risultare a prima vista difficile risalire all’origine delle articolate collane dall'aspetto severo, che una volta indossate si rivelano simbiotiche.

È la bellezza ritrovata, non canonica, di Myriam Bottazzi.

Milanese di nascita, Myriam ha scelto di vivere e lavorare a Roma. Il suo atelier Aspecifico è ospitato nelle mura dello storico Pastificio Cerere, cuore pulsante dell’arte contemporanea romana. Come fashion designer progetta e produce una linea di accessori e ornamenti MyriamB, in passato ha collaborato con alcune maison di moda come Valentino, Maurizio Galante, Les Copains. Nel suo nuovo percorso di designer di gioielli contemporanei ha recentemente esposto al JOYA Barcelona Art Jewellery Fair ed al MAD Museum of Arts and Design di New York.
